Today’s Ride by Shooting is more through than by. When you come upon this corridor in the late afternoon, sometimes the sun is catching the green moss up ahead and the shade sets it off too. I think ‘stop, take a photo’ every time. Today, even though it’s not the prettiest I’ve seen it, I threw out the anchors and stopped. It’s close to the bottom of the Mt Madonna climb. Cool and damp once you ride through the corridor and past the house to the right here, and a trickling creek takes over.
And then the climb. 3 miles of up, with 1.5 of it on dirt. It’s a hella commute home. I actually love the dirt part.
Late report of a Ride by Shooting on Mt Madonna (the dirt part). Been raining a lot lately. Stopped on the climb (which takes some determination because you really don’t want to stop) to shoot this little tricklefall.

About 10 miles out of Walden, CO on my ride across America. I’m slowly writing the book about the trip - too slow for some people, judging the by emails I get - and doing rough drafts online. It’s a long read, but you can just look at the pictures if ya want. Went through Byers Canyon this day, and ate a fantastic Second Breakfast at… The Glory Hole!
